Write an article to share your leadership story, your journey in leadership, or your leadership lessons
Everyone can lead, no matter where you are in the organization. Anyone can lead from within and across the organization, from CIOs to IT Directors, managers and supervisors, and line staff. According to the Open Organization definition, anyone in an organization can step forward into a leadership role: Fundamentally, a leader is anyone in a group, team, department, or enterprise who performs one or more critical leadership functions
including defining a vision, establishing connections, and mentoring others.
We embrace this definition at Coaching Buttons. You don't need to have a traditional "leader" title to share an article about leadership. We welcome anyone to share their story about how they lead. If you need a few ideas to share your first article with us, try writing about one of these topics:
Tell about how you demonstrated leadership. Everyone has a different perspective on leadership, and everyone has their own "first step" into a leadership role. Share an article about how you lead by taking responsibility for the bigger picture, not tasks.
Share your advice on making decisions. Decision-making is a critical skill in leadership. Write about how IT leaders can lead by helping others understand technical options, risks, and trade-offs. You might highlight clear communication and sound judgment as leadership skills that improve outcomes across teams.
Describe how readers can influence change from within the organization. For example, you could focus on concrete actions IT professionals can take to lead today, such as speaking up in meetings, proposing improvements, and modeling accountability. Or write about how to influence through behavior rather than position.
Write about what your open organization is like. How did your organization become open? How do you encourage that community of open leadership, where anyone can lead from where they are?
Strengthen your team through quiet leadership. Tell us about leading through mentorship, coaching, and strategy.
